In pottery terms, a "second" is an imperfect ceramic that can be sold at wild discount. Each piece is unique with its own character. No flaws affect the piece--they are all still fully functional with a splash of extra personality.

Why is this a Seconds Sale?: Slightly warped top, leans slightly forward. Does not affect the functionality in any way—this sometimes occurs during the high fire glaze firing in the kiln.
